DELIVERY SERVICE
Name your service DELIVERIES UNLIMITED or something similar, and let it be known that you are available to run almost all kinds of errands. You will probably find yourself asked to do such things as deliver parts, pick up groceries, do light hauling, and just about anything your customers can think up. You'll need a good economy pickup or van equipped with a phone, or a good sideband CB radio with a base station, and someone at home to take your calls. Small classified ads and business cards handed out to everyone you contact will help build your business. You'll want your name in the yellow pages, too.
Have your printer run off a few hundred fliers and drop them off to businesses and offices throughout your city. Be certain to contact all the real estate offices and attorneys, as these firms use delivery services repeatedly. Find out what your competition is charging so you'll know what to charge for your services. You will need to be bonded, and your insurance agent will be able to help you take care of this necessity. This is a great low investment business, and one that has a very high income potential. Many operators have a fleet of delivery vehicles and earn in excess of $100,000 a year.
